Giving up your Dog
The rehoming process starts with the owner filling in our rehoming form. The more information we have about a dog, the better we can judge if we can help and the better his/her chances of finding the right home.
Once we have this information, we will need to see if we are able to help. We are only a small rescue, staffed by volunteers, and we don't have kennels. So you would have to hold on to your dog until a suitable home is found. This can take weeks or months, depending on the dog. We will most likely meet with you and your dog to assess your dog and get a feel for what s/he is like and what kind of home is needed. The dog's welfare is our top priority, so we will be looking for the most suitable home.
Your dog's profile and photos will be posted on our Facebook page and also on our website.
Once we have an application we think would be a good fit for your dog we will conduct a home check to make sure this is the right home. If it is a good match, we will collect and transport your dog to the new home.
While this is in progress, some dogs will need vet visits as we cannot rehome dogs that are not microchipped, unvaccinated or unneutered/spayed (depending on age - if a dog is too young to be neutered/spayed we will arrange a suitable date for this with the adopters).
